Contract awards in Construction up by 81.4% – Its not all doom and gloom!

For the month of June Construction Contract awards were up by 81.4%. There were 477 new contracts awarded across the UK, London has the largest share of the new contracts with 26.1%, Then the South East with 16.4% followed by the North West at 13.6%.

The residential sector took the Lion’s share of the new contracts with a total of 33.9%. The largest individual project awarded in June was the Gatwick Airports Railway refurbishment project valued at £150m.

Although the number of contracts awarded are down in comparison to June 2019, there looks to be an improvement in industry figures as we are gradually leaving Lockdown restrictions.

Lets hope there continues to be further successes in the industry over the coming months.

3 Peaks for Yemen

As we are an active bunch at Your Construction, 2 of our Directors Kyle and Josh took on the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge in early July. They stayed 2 metres apart at all times! Although it sounds like Josh could have done with a piggy back down the last hill as he opted for some low cost hiking boots that gave him unsightly looking feet. No photographic evidence provided I am afraid, they were too hideous!

Rather than just do it for the fun of it they opted to raise a few quid for the Yemen Humanitarian crisis. Fair play to Josh and Kyle.

Salford Foundation – supporting schools across Greater Manchester

Prior to the Pandemic Your Construction had been partnering with the Salford Foundation who provide support to schools across the Greater Manchester area. Our Director, Jack had been working with a school in Wythenshawe providing Mentoring and careers advice to children aged 12-14. He was halfway through the programme when the pandemic struck. Thankfully we are looking to start working with the Salford Foundation again when the schools return in September. After 6 months off school at that point I am sure the children will be delighted to get back, especially to their mentoring sessions with Jack.
